Whoever Ron was, he not only took very good care of his guitar, but he seems to have been a ‘strictly rhythm’ kind of guy. The same quality standards and with the same materials that make Stratocasters and Telecasters of the late 1950s so desirable.Ĭomplete with its rare original case and a strap and cable of the era, the Musicmaster’s original Desert Sand finish is in fine condition, while the very small amount of wear on its gorgeous V-shaped neck is concentrated in the first position. However, as this ’57 Musicmaster proves, even instruments intended for beginners were manufactured in Fullerton to The Musicmaster (single pickup) and Duo-Sonic (twin pickup) were introduced as 22.5-inch scale student models midway through 1956. Personalised with the type of self-adhesive letters often used on American luggage and mailboxes back in the day, ‘Ron’ is about as fine an example of an original Fender Musicmaster as you are likely to encounter. I mean, there aren’t too many 1950s Fenders within reach financially, particularly sweet ones like this.This instrument was already sold when we saw it on the wall at ATB Guitars, but it was simply too cool not to grab for a photoshoot before it was collected by its new owner. ![]() Vintage Guitar did a full article on these guitars not long ago and they seem to be increasing in value. The hard shell case is original and in nice condition. The power transformer has a date of the 39th week of 1964. This amp dates to early 1965, as the output transformer dates to the fifth week of 1965. For sale is one of the most acclaimed small combo amps, the Fender Vibro-Champ. The upside is that the guitar stays in tune like a champ! West Islip, New York, 117, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I will find and include but no guarantee. The original tuners were replaced due to crumbling, and I have them somewhere around. It sounds great, really cuts through and sings. Frets are in good shape, never been a buzzing issue The pickup is a 70s era mustang with the original pickup cover. The neck is pencil dated to 1957 and both pots are original. That said, it is in very good condition with only a few dents and such, please look at the pictures carefully. The body was obviously stripped of the desert sand paint and refinished at some point in its distant past, but I think it looks really cool and I haven’t had to worry about keeping it perfect. I have done my best to accurately describe it to the very best of my knowledge based on all the items you see in the total descriptions here, so the potential buyer please read those carefully. This vintage 1957 Fender Musicmaster has a particularly killer maple neck that feels incredible and a wonderful vintage Fender tone.Neck is pencil dated 3-57.It features a red refinish that looks real nice, it looks like that rare See Through Mahogany finish Fender did that is very rare. This is a one owner, me, original beautiful bass guitar. It is an amazing little guitar and the neck, in particular, is stellar. Vintage Fender MusicMaster 1973 short scale bass guitar works great. I bought this super cool player’s grade Musicmaster as one of my first vintage guitars years ago from Thunder Road guitars. ![]()
